Learn to Kayak

This course equips participants with essential knowledge to stay safe while paddling on grade 2/3 whitewater and effectively handle any issues that may arise. It is one of the most valuable courses for whitewater paddlers and serves as a prerequisite for the White Water Leader, Canoe White Water Leader, and Advanced White Water Safety Training courses.

The Paddle Safer course offers new and inexperienced paddlers the chance to enhance their safety skills before heading out on the water.

The Start Award is the initial step in your paddling journey. If you’re brand new to the sport and really want to learn the basics to get started, then this is the award for you. You’ll cover everything from getting in and out of the kayak, what you need to wear and paddling forward.
